Dealing with a deadly and crippling disease – whether ours or a loved one’s – is probably one of the biggest trials life can give us. We are besieged with questions, many of them only God can answer. It is such a big deal that many lose faith and question God’s purpose. But illness is a part of our existence, and even though the end is not always what we pray it to be, our Lord is faithful and kind and is with us always. Let as look at Scripture to see how God teaches us to deal with illness.

To be hurt is to be human. And when we think of it, many of those hurts we’ve suffered come from harsh words from other people. But God, in his infinite wisdom, provides us with ways not only to avoid being hurt, but also to heal from the wounds caused by hurtful, ugly, and insensitive words. Let’s look at what His Word says in our search to find peace when we find ourselves hurt by words.
